Origin of the Retailer:
Ikea was founded by Ingvar Kamprad, who was just 17 years old at the time. The name Ikea is made up from the initials of the founder and the first letters of the farm, Elmtaryd, and the village, Agunnaryd, in rural southern Sweden where he grew up. IKEA first started in Sweden in 1943, and now operates 267 stores in 25 countries around the world! There are 12 stores across Canada and many other pick-up and order points.
IKEA stores include an Ikea restaurant where hungry shoppers can dine on Swedish food and there is also a supervised play area, enabling parents to shop in relative peace while their kids have fun!
Ikea services are designed for you! Take advantage of their great delivery service that deliver in a 4-hour window, so you arent waiting at home all day. Ikea can also assemble and delivery to the room of your choice, no matter the number of stairs.
